Though it may not have been the most obvious of places for Bam to enjoy being in, the forest was one of his favourite areas. He'd been in various places all through his life. When he was younger, he'd always gone to the nearest forest and run around...
This wasn't the nearest forest, but he was more than a little happy here and, if he was honest, he preferred the forests further from his home. There was less chance of meeting people he knew, then. The kids in school hadn't been too impressed when he'd almost blown up a classroom in science, in all honesty... Then again, Bam very much doubted that anyone aside from Bam would've been all that impressed, which was definitely a shame, but if the world was full of people exactly like Bam, it would get boring and there would be no one left alive, the teenager was willing to bet.
Cursing a bird above him as it moved and knocked snow onto his head, Bam bit his tongue when the snow began to melt. It was times like this that Bam was glad of his ability to keep himself warm. As a child, he'd always found it hard to keep warm. Pushing himself up from the floor, where he'd been sat against a tree with his pet fire dog, Bam began to move before he paused and looked around. He had the feeling that someone was near by. It wasn't quite the same as the feeling of being watched, but it was close. Bam looked down at his pet then up at where he thought someone was.
"Who's there?" He yelled out, ignoring the dog as it growled then barked. A quick click of his fingers quietened the animal and it went back to merely watching whoever or whatever was here. Bam tried to remember what the day was, so as to help him figure out if it was more likely to be an adult or a child/teenager and the short boy remembered that it was a Saturday... A weekend... The dog's barking made Bam snap out of his thoughts and he sent the dog off in the direction that the pair were looking, regardless as to whether or not there was anyone there.
Digging around in his pocket, Bam slipped a cigarette out and lit it using a quick click of his fingers before puffing on it patiently while he waited for the fiery animal to come back to him. He didn't pay too much attention to his surroundings, too busy focusing on the animal he'd just sent off to actually pay attention to anything else.

Lucas woke up on Saturday morning and decided to go for a run. He put on his sweatshirt and sweatpants. With his iPod on full blast and his eyes on full watch to make sure he doesn't take on powers without planning to. He notices some deep woods on his left side which he takes advantage of and is able to avoid people on the remainder of his run.
As he runs through the woods, Lucas keeps his mind on his first week of school. Its been a good long week and he is really moving in to a comfortable place at the school.
Mid thought Lucas begins to sweat even though the temperature outside is almost freezing. He pulls out the headphones and begins to look around. On the ground a few feet in front of him is a hound. He looks around for the dog's owner. As he continues to walk forward he gets warmer and warmer until the tree closest to him burst into flames. He looks around and sees a man with a cigarette who clearly must be the one responsible for the powers. Wanna help me out with this? he says with a gesture of the head towards the fiery tree.

The dog ran back to Bam after a few minutes and hid behind Bam's legs at a man moved forwards. Bam looked at the tree with little interest and sucked in air through the cigarette while stroking the flaming dog to comfort the hot animal.
"Not particularly." He mumbled in answer, obviously not caring much for the trees, though the fire soon began to shrink while Bam watched the fire. He was curious as to where it came from, doubting that he had done it, but not thinking that this guy could do it... The teenager regarded him with no interest and merely continued to stroke his flaming pet while puffing quite happily on the cigarette between his index and middle fingers. "You di'n't answer my question, neither." He pointed out and shifted his weight while the fire dog next to him began growling at the other male.
"I asked, who are you?" He repeated, punctuating each word of the question with a step towards the other male, keeping his hand down to keep the dog from running off while watching the other boy, paying no interest to the cigarette between his fingers, the hand of which had also dropped to his side.

Lucas watched as the boy continued to look at him. He shook his head in disgust and continued to ignore the teenager's question. He turned back to the tree and focused in on the powers of the the kid next to him. He felt the heat in his body and slowly the fire began to vanquish. Lucas was sweating at this point from the amount of strength he had to put into putting out the fire. When the tree was free of all but the tiniest of flames, he turned to face the boy again. Thanks for the help man. That was good of you. He turned to leave, grabbing his earphones again. To answer your question, I'm outta here

The boy began to leave and Bam narrowed his eyes. The dog next to him growled until Bam gave it the rest of his cigarette and he stalked forward, slightly hunched. The fiery animal next to him seemed to copy his movements, though didn't run ahead of him.
"That's jus' rude, Honeybutt." Out came the pre-made nickname, one of Bam's personal favourites, just for the reactions he usually got from it. "An' it's not an answer. That's the answer for what're ya doin', not who are you. Totally different." He added and paused just outside of arms reach, though the dog moved forward a little more and barked loudly. The red haired teen took no notice, however, and instead watched the boy. "What are schools teachin' kids like you these day?"
Ignoring the fact that he was also a kid, and the fact that he'd just asked a question, Bam shrugged and moved away, not bothering with the dog as it looked up at the stranger, barked, then trotted after Bam, quicker when Bam clicked his fingers twice, lighting a small flame at the end of his index finger then putting it out with the second click. He wasn't too fussed with the boy, really. He just seemed to be trying to get away as fast as he could, though the dog obviously had different ideas as the flaming animal turned and ran back to the boy, growling and barking as it did so. Bam turned with a sigh and put his forehead in his hand, not bothering to stop the animal, though. He didn't see the point. If the other boy wanted the living fire to stop, then he could always ask...

Honey butt? Kid? Who the hell did this guy think he was. He was the same age as Lucas if not younger. Lucas pulled his hood back down and pulled the earphones out of his ears and put them in his pocket. He turned back to see the fiery dog heading back to him. He took two steps held his right hand out in front of him and tried to control the fire engulfing the hound. He lifted the animal straight into the air and threw him through the air into the boy's chest. Keep your mutt on a leash before he gets hurt.
Lucas wasn't typically so ill-tempered but there was something about this kid's attitude that just rubbed him the wrong way. He hated when cockiness and this kid wreaked of it. He rubbed his own two fingers together and sparked them into an inferno in his hands and closed his hands around it before setting something else on fire. Cool. He thought to himself, what an awesome ability.

Bam caught the whimpering animal and narrowed his eyes. The dog shrunk and the fires that made the animal disappeared. Bam marched forward in obvious anger, ignoring the smoking footsteps that he left behind him. How dare this guy hurt his dog. It was his dog, not this boy's pet fire.
"D'you throw the local stray cat if it gets in your way too?" Bam snarled, now more striding over with an air of arrogance, though his expression showed more than just a little annoyance. Fire appeared behind the sixteen year old a moment later and it began to grow back into the shape of the dog, but the burning animal stayed where it was and seemed to be frozen, if not for the fire of its body flickering. "Wanna try pickin' on someone your own damn species next time, Honeybutt? Bet you don't got the guts." He sneered with a grin and clicked his fingers continuously, lighting a fire at the end of his middle and index finger then killing it as easily with every other click.
The dog behind Bam moved to its owner after a moment, though keeping silent and low. Bam's clicking continued, slowly getting quicker as he stopped walking. The dog caught up with the 5'7 boy and stayed behind his legs in an attempt at being shielded from the other boy. Bam's attention wasn't on his dog, but the boy that had angered him.

Lucas snapped his hands to his side extending both of his hands to about chest height. Feeling his rage mull up inside him, fire just waiting to escape his fingers. He smirked as the asshat across from him responded to the opening threat. Only if the stray is as big a jackass as you are. He snickered at the comment about Honeybutt again. Are you trying to lead me to believe that you and this dog are of different species. Granted I threw the dog but lets not be insulting here. He grinned at the boy began to look around at his surroundings. As long as no one else entered the clearing, he wouldnt have anything to worry about. plenty of concentration on the fiery powers, almost complete control.

A snort came from the boy when he was called a jackass. He didn't think he was that bad, if he was honest. It wasn't like he was throwing peoples' pets around or anything like that...
At his next words, Bam raised an eyebrow, obviously this boy knew nothing of how to really insult someone. Bam, however, had spent all sixteen years of his life insulting, annoying, and generally being a pest to people. It was as easy as breathing, and took about as much thought as breathing too.
"I'm a difference species t'the dog, yes. Congrats on figurin' that out, Honeybutt." Bam clapped slowly, obviously sarcastically, while letting his eyebrow drop. He wasn't impressed at all. This guy had nothing impressive about him. "You an' the dog are also different species, you're an ass an' he's a dog." Bam decided to disguise one insult as another, seemingly. He'd meant ass as in donkey, but the secondary insult also worked quite well, too.
Tilting his head to one side, Bam shook his head while one hand went into his pocket and the other moved to let the dog sniff casually until it went back to sniffing the floor. "I notice you ain't proved me wrong, Honeybutt..." He paused as though he had a moment of complete clarity. "Honeybutt's too dangerous for you... Sugarpuff seems so much better. Yeah, I'll wait for someone worth a good name like Honeybutt." Bam nodded along with his last sentence, a patronising yet completely arrogant smirk perched on his lips while he watched the other boy.
