Jeering. Laughing. Taunting. Alice shut her eyes tight and held her hands over her ears, trying to block out the vicious calls of the children surrounding her. Opening her eye a crack and peering through she could see their faces. Everyone of them pointing at Alice and laughing.
Alice was special. All mothers say their child is 'special' but Alice really was. She could do things. Things like teleport, which is why she was in the position she was in now. The class bully had cornered Alice in the classroom, Alice had been that scared she blinked, and found herself at home, huddled in her room, crying. She couldn't explain it to her mum, but it wouldn't have mattered if she could. Alice was different to all the other kids, and her mother was scared.
It seemed like the torture would never end. The faces got closer, the cheering got louder, Alice got more nad more upset untill... BOOM... a sudden noise, like an explosion, erupted around Alice. The laughter and shouting stopped. Barely able to open her eyes, Alice risked a peek. There was a silvery glow around her, about 5 foot away, all the way round. Kids lay on the floor, staring at her in disbelief. What had just happened? Not giving herself time to work it out, Alice got up and ran. She didn't look behind her untill she got home.
Bursting through the front door, she raced upstairs to her room. She threw clothes into a backpack and left.
